Our story
LittleFrenchLibrary was created for a simple reason. As a French family of four living in London, we found ourselves reading the same French books over and over again, often brought back from Christmas trips to France. Finding new, beautiful children’s books in French wasn’t always easy.
We also noticed something else: our children love receiving a parcel in the post, especially when it is addressed just to them. There is something exciting about opening it and discovering what was inside. And when the surprise is a new book, they can’t wait to read it, either with us or on their own.
That’s when the idea for LittleFrenchLibrary began: to make it easier for families in the UK to discover beautiful books in French, while turning each new selection into something children can genuinely look forward to.
Books chosen with your child in mind
We believe that growing up with books in French is a wonderful gift. We also believe that the right book, chosen at the right moment, can spark curiosity, encourage reading and help French become a natural part of everyday life.
That’s why every LittleFrenchLibrary selection is made by hand, with care and with your child in mind.
When you subscribe, you can tell us a little about your child: their relationship with French, their reading level and the kinds of books they enjoy, whether that’s stories, comics, science, adventure or something completely different.
We use this information as a guide, rather than a strict wish list. Part of the joy of LittleFrenchLibrary is discovering something new, so we may also choose books that introduce your child to different subjects, stories and styles they might not have picked for themselves.
Something to look forward to
Each parcel is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully wrapped because we know it’s more than just a delivery. It’s a little moment of excitement arriving especially for your child, with new books waiting to be opened and discovered.
Behind every selection is a real person who loves children’s books and takes the time to choose them well.
We hope LittleFrenchLibrary helps bring more French, more stories and more reading into your home, one parcel at a time.
We’re so glad you’re here.
Beautiful books in French. Thoughtfully selected. Chosen just for them.
